Welcome to Bump to Bloom Psychology

Motherhood can feel like a constant juggle - holding everyone else’s needs while quietly wondering if you’re doing enough.

It’s so common to carry guilt, to feel overwhelmed, or to question yourself, even when you’re showing up with so much love and intention.

These feelings don’t mean you’re failing - they mean you’re human, navigating one of the biggest transitions of your life. You don’t have to carry it all alone. At Bump to Bloom, I offer a supportive, understanding space for women and mothers to feel heard, validated, and gently guided through the complexities of this season.

Located on the Gold Coast, Bump to Bloom offers psychological services for women’s mental health and perinatal psychology, by registered psychologist and director, Maddison McLean.

A word on matrescence …

At the heart of my work is an understanding of matrescence - the developmental transition into motherhood. Much like adolescence, matrescence is a period of profound change, shaping not only your role, but your identity, relationships, and emotional world. It can be deeply meaningful and expansive, while also bringing uncertainty, overwhelm, and vulnerability.

I recognise this phase as both normal and significant, yet often unsupported. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you, creating a space where you can feel understood, make sense of what you're experiencing, and build confidence in who you are becoming.
