Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Do I need a referral to book?

1

No, you don’t need a referral to book an appointment. However, if you’d like to access a Medicare rebate, you’ll need a referral and a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP (or psychiatrist/paediatrician).

What can I expect in the first session?

2

The first session focuses on getting to know you; what’s brought you in, your history, and your goals for therapy. We’ll also talk about how we can work together and answer any questions you have.

Do I have to be pregnant or be a mum?

3

Absolutely not! Despite the name Bump to Bloom psychology, sessions are available for any individual, with or without children. It is a welcoming space that offers mental health support and is not limited to only those who are pregnant or already have children. Everyone is welcome.

Why is the ‘Walk and Talk’ fee structure different?

4

Walk and Talks are available at a session fee of $260. You will notice that this is slightly higher than the general session fee. This is due to Medicare providing a higher rebate for off-site sessions, therefore your out-of-pocket cost is no different to the general session fee.
